Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews, a few drawbacks surface. Some diners note disappointment due to the limited opening hours, especially the 2 PM closure before reopening at 5 PM. It can be frustrating for late lunch seekers. Additionally, a few customers feel the prices are slightly on the high side compared to other options in the area. A common sentiment is the desire for a touch more variety in the menu, particularly among those hoping for adventurous seafood options beyond the classics.
Stayed nearby in Clarach Bay in a family holiday. Our holiday tradition is to have takeaway fish and chips. We searched the area and there was quite a few fish and chips takeaways and we weren't sure which to go for. Then we stumbled across this place, and boy I'm glad we did. We got fish and chips X4 and took them back to our accomodation to eat. The food was amazing! One of the best fish and chips I have had. The fish was fresh, the batter crispy and not greasy and the chips cooked to perfection! All cooked fresh whilst we were waiting. Enjoyed by all! Cost wise it was a tad expensive, but I didn't mind as the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly as well. If we are staying nearby again this place will be a must for us!
Nice fish and chips close to University. Fish are fresh and the gravy is generous. Delicious food! Also many fish options. The staffs are also nice. The only downside is that it's closed at 2pm and reopen at 5pm, so would be disappointed if you look for late lunch.
Just had probably the best fish & chips I’ve ever had from a chippie for a very long time. All freshly cooked with large portion sizes & sensibly priced.
Fish and chips spot close to the art center. Very friendly staff and service. The food is already fried, but very fresh tasting just like out of the cooker. Very crispy fried cod and it’s super big that I enjoyed every single bite of it. Visiting from Canada, and they recommended me to try the vinegar and salt, the traditional way of having it! It hit my stay here in Wales!
Great freshly cooked chips & fish, pie and mushy peas. Quick and efficient service. Well worth it & highly recommended
Food and staff are great but it's a chip shop so there's not much of an atmosphere unless you count watching TV while waiting for your fish to cook.
Incredible cheesy chips, super reasonable prices, and lovely staff! Easily best chippy in aber! :)
